Dorking Diary

Welcome to the March issue of the reigate and dorkingdiary.com.

Welcome to the March issue of dorkingdiary.com.

For those of you new to us - welcome! dorkingdiary.com has been publishing
now for a full year and this is the first edition with the Reigate area on board - thus the
brand new name!

Produced FREE every month and available to pick up in and around the local area, the
magazine offers interesting and informative articles, a celebrity interview (not usually
found in these sorts of magazines!), regular contributors, together with events and activities taking place over the month. Working with Dorking town management, Mole Valley District Council, business groups, local charities and community organisations in 2009, the magazine has gained an excellent reputation, not only with residents but also the local business community. And moving the publication into the Reigate area and making similar links will only enhance the magazine for my readers. Providing affordable and effective advertising solutions, if you run your own business and wish to promote your products or services, don’t hesitate to get in touch. I believe my advertising rates are so competitive that if you find a cheaper price in a similar magazine, I promise to better it!

So, what’s inside? March welcomes not only brighter days (hopefully!) but also our yearly chance to say a heartfelt thank you to our mums on Mother’s Day. As a mum myself, I can now fully appreciate every little (and big) thing that mine did for me whilst growing up. She shaped the person I am today and gave me the confidence to strive for whatever I dreamed. So, thanks ma! But how are you going to thank your mum? On pages 30 and 31, we have worked some magic and (together with the help of Suzy Hughes from new business ‘With All My Heart’) have put together just a few ideas of what’s available on the high street in both Reigate and Dorking. I hope you find something to inspire you...

Paula and Jon Briscoe, from The Jolly Farmers Food Emporium just outside Reigate, are known throughout the county for winning the prestigious Country Alliance Award for ‘Best Diversification’ in 2007 and as recently as September last year were proud to have been named the ‘Best Food Pub in the South East.’ They continue to support local farmers and suppliers, both in their restaurant and deli, so I am especially pleased they have agreed to write a new feature on food and drink for the magazine - find it on page 21, together with a recipe to try!

‘At Your Fingertips’ on page 5 has been fully updated with all essential and emergency
telephone numbers and our regular theatre page ‘Behind The Curtain’ now includes
what’s on stage at The Harlequin Theatre. If you turn to page 23, you can check out all
the forthcoming film releases in ‘On The Big Screen’ plus, we take a look back at some
of the fabulous interviews that have appeared over the last 12 months.

So, let’s catch up in March with a re-vamped, re-designed and re-juvernated new business - the reigate and dorkingdiary.com!
